Plante père (2025)

Plante père explore l’héritage d’une passion transmise de génération en génération : le jardinage. Le projet présente des photographies de mon père horticulteur, capturées dans notre jardin familial, ainsi que des instants de vie quotidienne empreints de poésie.   

À travers la photographie, j’explore la relation intrinsèque entre les floraisons de différentes espèces et les souvenirs que nous y rattachons. À la fois un lieu de partage et de rassemblement, le jardin devient pour moi un album photo vivant, où chaque nouvelle floraison réveille un souvenir hiverné. Consciente que mon père s’éteindra un jour, je me réconforte avec la pensée que, tant qu’il y aura des fleurs, j’aurai mon père. 

Comme un jardin qui connaît des saisons de croissance et de renouvellement, la vie humaine est marquée par des phases de développement, d’apprentissage et de renouveau. Les plantes poussent, fleurissent, fanent et laissent renaître la prochaine génération, reflétant le cycle de la vie. En plus d’honorer mon propre père, cette série de photographies devient une ode à la mémoire, à l’héritage et à l’intemporelle beauté du lien entre l’humain et la nature.

Plante père (2025)

Plante père explores the heritage of a passion handed down from generation to generation: gardening. The project presents photographs of my horticulturist father, taken in our family garden, as well as poetry-imbued moments of everyday life. 

Through photography I explore the intrinsic relationship between the blooming of different species and the memories we associate with them. At one and the same time a place for sharing and for people coming together, the garden becomes for me a living photo album, where each flowering awakens a wintery memory. Aware as I am that my father will one day pass away, I comfort myself with the thought that, as long as there are flowers, I’ll have my father. 

Like a garden that enjoys seasons of growth and renewal, human life is marked by phases of development, learning and resurgence. Plants grow, flower, fade and allow the next generation to be born, reflecting the cycle of life. In addition to honoring my own father, this series of photographs becomes an ode to memory, heritage and the timeless beauty of the bond between humans and nature.
